Louisiana natives, Coby and Kessie Thomas met during college and started attending Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church on the campus of what is now UL-Lafayette. Married in 1999, they have 9 children, some here on Earth and some in Heaven. Currently, they live in the Abbeville/Lafayette area and have been serving at the same parish since their college days. Ministry has always been an integral part of their relationship. They have been involved in mission trips, pilgrimages, college conferences, retreats, and various parish ministries, and they also share their story through the ministry of marriage enrichment for engaged couples.

In 2011, the couple began classes and discernment for Coby to become a deacon in the Catholic Church. In 2016, Coby was ordained as a deacon in the Diocese of Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana, serving still at Our Lady of Wisdom. 

Family time is a crucial part of their lives, and they enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, boating, skiing, and hiking together. They have been known for their hospitality at home, which has been a blessing for many in the community.
